Make Your Own Oat Milk - A blog from YWA's Environmental Committee

YWA's Environmental Committee is excited to share with you our passion for environmental stewardship. We will be sharing our tips and resources with you on a monthly basis, and we will work to further our school's knowledge on the topics that were of special interest to you from our interest survey.

A number of people expressed interest in sustainability, so today I want to share with you how I make oat milk, my favorite sustainable milk. I hope you enjoy it!

Recipe:

3 cups filtered water

1/2 cup oats

1 handful of cashews (soaked and drained)

1 pinch of salt

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

Now the answer to the survey question: Rainforests once covered 14% of the earth's land surface. Now they cover...6%

According to National Geographic, deforestation driven by mining, ranching, logging, and agriculture has decreased tropical rainforests to only 6% of the Earth's surface.
